Features of DX-RACER FD01
1. Dimensions
The dimensions are 27.5 x 27.5 x 52 inches. The seat dimensions are 27″W × 21″D. The seat height ranges from 50 to 53 inches. And the backrest height has a range of 30 to 32 inches.
It is not big and tall, but it is suitable only for smaller people between 16 to 18.
2. Upholstery
Unlike all other gaming chairs of Dxracer, we get to see Mesh Fabric here instead of PU Leather. Mesh has its advantages over PU Leather in many ways.
The strong mesh fabric feels like a sofa seat, and it doesn’t heat up with the raised environmental temperature. You have to take care of leather and save it from cuts. But fabric saves you from all these troubles.
3. Color Combinations.
It comes up with two color variants. You can find it on Amazon in Black & Red, and Black colors. The color combinations look highly elegant.
The red color is on the sides and the tops of the wheels. And black color fills in the inner part.
4. 1D Armrests.
Most of the Dxracer products come with 4D armrests, but they are expensive too. But this chair grants you to operate the armrests in only one direction.
You can only adjust their height, but they are not moveable in the left and right directions. Many gaming seats come up with stationary armrests.
Other than that, the armrests are plastic made. So, you can’t put much weight on them. Lastly, they have a good amount of padding on it. So, they can be comfortable for you in the least regard.
5. Reclining Feature
The FD01 of DX-Racer has a conventional tilt mechanism and a large angle adjuster. It means that it can recline up to 135°, and you can lock it at your desired position.
There is a lever on the right side by which you can manually lock the recliner at one angle. It is super beneficial for those people who like to play or work with the reclined back the whole time.
6. Smooth Rolling Wheels
You will see 2 inches-wide casters with a 27.5″ Nylon base to support the upper half. The base feels sturdy enough and well built, and it can go on a long run if you use it carefully and don’t exceed the weight limit.
Casters have a plastic cover for improved protection. The wheels are fluent and smooth, and they will easily roll over any surface as it is lightweight and wheels don’t have to carry heavy weight.
7. Adjustability and Control Buttons
On the right side, you will see a seat height adjusting lever. By pulling this lever, you can easily adjust the seat height. The lowest height setting is 17″, and the highest is 20″.
It is suitable for people who have a height range from 4’9″ to 5’11”. It has a swivel rotation of 360°, whose mechanism is placed directly under it.
8. Additional Cushioning
The Formula series FD01 comes with a removable headrest and lumbar cushions.
The neck pillow is tied through the holes, and you can adjust them a little by moving an inch or two. But they are not highly adjustable. The cushions are thick and soft.
The lumbar pillow is adjustable either way as per your needs. Hence, they are up to the standard and provide a suitable comfortable posture.
Why are there Holes in it?
The purpose of adding holes in it is to add a place for the headrest to be tied. Otherwise, the headrest strap has to go all the way around the backrest.
They added up these holes to save this trouble and give it a better look.
9. Durability and Longevity
It is in no way near a heavy-duty gaming chair as it can hold a maximum weight of 180-200 pounds. But the metal frame makes everything better. At least it provides a well-built and strengthening interior that can last longer.

The armrests are sturdy at the base. But they feel feeble at the top.

- The armrests are not adjustable. They are only moveable in one direction, in up and down movement.
- I feel I would have preferred PU Leather over Mesh Fabric.
- It is not suitable for long and heavy users. It can accommodate only one category of age group.
How Comfortable is it?
First of all, It does not allow the user to be above 5’11”, and I am 5’9″. So I got away here by a tiny margin.
The weight limit is the real issue here. I’m 180 pounds, and this is the limit, and I can’t put on any additional weight. I better recommend the Tank Series.
Padding & Cushions
If we talk about the padding, we get to have 3 inches of thick padding all over, which is quite good. The cushions do a great job of making you comfortable for continuous hours of intense gaming experience.
How much does it cost?
You can find this on Amazon for 400$ with no delivery charges. It is the cheapest option you can look for in the DX-Racer brand.
Formula Series is their most selling and well-known series with the best sales figures.
Is It Worth it?
Well, it depends on you. I personally don’t like such brands that promote body shaming in either way. So, it’s a no for me. But as my weight was 180 lbs, I ordered it.
This formula-style gaming chair has the best things but it also has its fair share of downsides. The price tag is a bit expensive as compared to all the “best features”
Warranty of Formula Series Chair
If you face any issues with it, you can claim the warranty to obtain what you wish.
The FD01 of the DX-Racer brand comes with a Lifetime Warranty on the metal frame. And 2 years of warranty for the accessories.
You can claim it to receive a refund or the replacement of your product without any complications. But you have to use it according to the given instructions. Otherwise, the warranty will not apply.
You have to apply for the warranty within 30 days of ordering. And it may take 1 to 3 working days to process your warranty claim.
Final Verdict on DX-Racer Formula Series
Getting straight to the point, the DX-Racer Formula series chair (FD01) seems to be a good option when all things are considered thoroughly.
Every product comes up with some flaws, and so does it. And these flaws can be a deal-breaker for you as it is not a handy option for many users. But this chair does the job pretty nicely for the people who meet its recommended capacities.
If I had to review it with PU Leather, I would have rated it much higher. Overall, a fair option. And if you’re looking for much advanced and better specs and features, you have to spend more bucks.
